July, 2024 – A bill called the Warehouse and Port Pollution Reduction Act (S3546/A4679) was introduced in the New Jersey legislature. It would impose new permit and pollution reduction requirements on the warehouse industry.

June, 2024 – The Environmental Defense Fund (EDF) released a report entitled New Jersey Warehouse Boom, which tracks the growth of warehouses and the alleged environmental impact.

June, 2024 – The City of Newark has adopted a new ordinance imposing substantial license and fee requirements on the “storage” of intermodal containers. The Newark-based port industry is studying the impact of these new requirements.
